The cast and crew weigh in on filming the exciting conclusion to an epic two-part sequel. Tokyo Revengers 2: Bloody Halloween- Decisive Battle in PH cinemas on February 7, 2024

The plan was to produce a single movie while writing the script for Tokyo Revengers in live-action led by the original manga author Ken Wakui. “But it ended up being a Blockbuster script that was over three and a half hours long, we all had a lot of discussions on the best way to present it,” producer Okada Shota explains. The final script was twice as time-consuming to complete as the first movie.

The decision was made to divide the sequel into two parts, with Tokyo Revengers 2: Bloody Halloween- Destiny being the initial installment that builds suspense. During a discussion with producer Okada, Ken Wakui stated that ‘Bloody Halloween’ has a strong mystery element. After the initial mystery is resolved, Tokyo Revengers 2: Bloody Halloween- Decisive Battle brings a thrilling conclusion.
The cast was putting their all into the movie as soon as filming began. “We greeted the first day with a good sense of nervousness.” Producer Okada recounts the early days of filming when he felt pressure to bring himself to his best condition. Takumi Kitamura, who portrays the main character Takemichi Hanagaki, has consistently been a source of inspiration for the cast and personnel. Producer Okada says, “Kitamura-kun is the kind of person who can overcome even the most difficult scenes with a smile on his face. Even when we stumbled on something on set, the English team was all about lifting us to try to complete the project somehow, and Kitamura-kun was always at the center of that.”
Not only did the other cast members contribute their skills, but their camaraderie made filming enjoyable. Ryo Yoshizawa’s “Mikey” Manjiro Sano performance was flawless, showcasing his unique ability to dominate scenes and unite the cast with what producer Okada calls his ‘Terrific sense of stability’. Mio Imada, who plays Takemichi’s girlfriend Hinata Tachibana, had a lovely presence during filming and producer Okada believes that in Tokyo Revengers 2: Bloody Halloween- Decisive Battle, her character has ”She has more personality as a heroine than in the previous work.”
Watch how it all ends as Tokyo Revengers 2: Bloody Halloween- Decisive Battle opens in cinemas starting February 7, an Encore Films film distributed by Warner Bros.
