Right After bringing Hello World to the Philippine cinemas, Pioneer films brings Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl as the next anime film in the big screen for November 2019. The anime series was released way back Fall 2018 which aired from October 4th up to December 27th with a total of 13 episodes.
Before discussing what to look forward and expect of the film, let us have a short recap on what “AoButa” is about.
A phenomenon called “Adolescence Syndrome” has been circulating around Fujisawa. A phenomenon which is also known as Puberty Syndrome: a term used to describe abnormal experiences during adolescence. Sakuta Azusagawa, a second year high school encountered Mai Sakurajima who is a teenage actress wearing a bunny outfit. Mai Sakurajima was intrigued because inside the library, Sakuta can see her while others don’t– even in her in her normal outfit or out of her celebrity life. Sakuta’s unexpected encounter of Mai makes his normal life turn around, deciding to solve its mystery and meeting other people who also experience the phenomenon.
Now, let’s proceed to the film itself: prepare for a rollercoaster of emotions. Seeing Futaba and Mai cry due to the twists and turns involving the mystery of Makinohara Shoko will make you cry at least 3 times. The movie adaptation of AoButa has set a new meaning of drama. If you laughed and cried during the first arcs of the series, prepare your hearts for a tenfold ride of feels. This is the tear-jerker drama that we loved and will love even more.
Witnessing the reactions of all the fans inside the cinema during the fan-screening was unforgettable. I assure you that those reactions I witnessed will happen again for those who will see this film during the public screening.
Stay tuned for our movie review that’s slated to be published on the day of public screening which is on the 13th of November 2019.
SetsuAni would like to thank Pioneer Films and Anime Movies Philippines for the opportunity and invitation to be one of the first to watch Rascal Does Not Dream of A Dreaming Girl here in the Philippines through the fan-screening held in SM Cinemas Megamall at Mandaluyong City on the 09th of November 2019.
