Known as Asia’s most prominent and longest-running event for toys and collectibles, cosplay, comics, gaming, and digital entertainment, Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectible Conference (TOYCON) is back this year with a 3-day long jam-packed event celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Co-founders Victorino Yap and Cholo Mallillin were present for TOYCON’s Launce Event last Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Ayala Malls, Manila Bay. Alongside them is Globe’s Vice President for Customer Second Strategy, Michael Magpily, who has announced what to look out for in TOYCON 2023, 20 Years of Play.
What to Expect for TOYCON 2023
Local and international guest partners, which include some celebrity toy designers: Quiccs, Creon Chkn, Arman Kendrick, and Wetworks in their line-up with 30 of the best local toy designers in the Philippines, will be participating in this year’s TOYCON 2023, 20 Years of Play.
As announced, TOYCON will be releasing exclusive-limited goods that will be sold at the event, one of which is a limited edition FUNKO POP! of Freddy Funko dressed up as Champ from Jollibee.
Trade Expo and Toy Exposition brought to us by MINDSTYLE, one of the international partners of the event, with special guests to be announced soon.
Special guests will appear at the event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of TOYCON, Sentai Stars, Tetsuo Kurata (Kamen Rider Black) of Kamen Rider Black, and Ryousuke Kaizu (Red Mask) of Hikari Sentai Maskman, have been invited to join the event. More guests will be announced soon on the social media page of TOYCON 2023.
Comic Book artists Harvey Tolibao and Miguel Mercado, and other artists from KOMIKET will also appear at TOYCON 2023.
International Toy Studios like Stormy Vault from the United States, Devil Toys and Solid Toys from Hong Kong, and Joy Toy will be joining this year’s event.
There will be cosplay competitions and events by World Cosplay Summit, Pop Duo, and ASCWS, details about the said competition will be announced soon.
Movie studio partners, Warner Brothers will feature the grand launch of the movie, Barbie while Sony Pictures and Paramount Pictures give us insights into the new TMNT movie.
TOYCON 2023 will also have a Creator’s Alley, wherein the Top Filipino creators will meet the new and aspiring creators in the industry. There will also be a collectors gallery from the Philippine Toy Groups Association.
A photo exhibit by Jay Tablante, celebrity cosplay photographer, in celebration of his 20th anniversary in the industry, will also be one of the highlights that we will look forward to at TOYCON 2023.
And lastly, main exhibitors and retail stores from top-selling toy stores and toy chains like Big Boy toy store, FUNTASTIK, HUBBYTE, Hobby Stock, Comic Odyssey, Aezer and many more!
TOYCON X GLOBE
For this year’s TOYCON, Globe has forged a partnership with them for this event. As Globe continues to immerse themselves in their subscriber’s passion, knowing them even further.
