Two days with all our furry-loving friends: That’s what FurryPinas 2018 is all about.
Furries and their friends occupied a hall in SMX Convention center on May 19 and 20 to celebrate their biggest event– yet.
Brian Uy, the founder, shared his appreciation to the crowd as he happily announced that it was their “overwhelimingly biggest event” so far, having the most attendees in four years of the fandom’s existence in the country.
Started in 2014 in a small event in a mall, FurryPinas was said to be the first furry con in South East Asia. Now as they celebrate their 4th year, they also celebrate being the biggest Furry con in Asia.
This cause is not only for the furries, but also to those in need as they partner with the Hands of God Charity Works. They intend to share this blessing to the children who also needs them.
Brian shares to the crowd about what’s in store for attendees: games, panel talks, workshops, and lots of activities.
At the venue, a lot is happening as well. Guests are free to use the console games and board games to play with their friends. While others can try their luck with the tabletop games (gotta say the ring toss looks pretty hard).
The artists alley was filled with guests who were searching for their fandom’s merch, will over 50 artists who were present. Displays such as cute animal figurines were also present in the venue.
The FurryPinas would of course be incomplete without our Furry friends roaming around, who chose to dress up despite of the summer heat. They happily enjoyed each other’s company, indulging guests and children to photos.
FurryPinas aims to make this fandom of theirs common in five to ten years in time, allowing everyone to enjoy their love for furries and introduce them to others as well.
