An anime fan’s summer won’t be complete without the annual Ozine Fest happening in the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall.
Every last weekend of April, cosplayers and anime fans flock in the Megatrade Halls to attend one of the most attended conventions. Although the lines are so long that they go down to the ground floor, people kept on going. Fortunately, the line was fast so the convention goers had their time to roam around the halls.
Having inspired from Japanese Summer Festivals, Ozine Fest had mini festival games inside the halls. There were activities such as the wishing booth and the fish catching, which were the usual stuff we’d see.
On the first day of the convention, an indie idol group, Aidoru Sozai (shortened as AiSo) had their debut performance on stage. Even one of them, Hayayan, entered the eating contest.
Another indie idol group made its way on the second day of Ozine Fest. CH4U held a meet and greet near the ice skating area to interact with their “choumodachis.”
Aside from being able to interact with indie idols and their friends, convention goers also got to meet two of the guest cosplayers Baobao and Wowo as they went onstage to greet and perform for their fans.
The stage was as eventful as ever, flocked with audience as the usual Cosplay Competition, Battle of the Bands, and Karaoke Contest took place.
Of course, Ozine won’t be Ozine without the “Team Labas” hanging outside the halls up to the skating rink area to have their shoots and to meet with friends.
And who would miss the guards who would shoo those cosplayers away, even rushing them in the comfort room?
Despite all of these, all convention goers still had something to look forward to: the company, the photos, and the memories they created.
