Welcoming back into the gargantuan halls of the SMX Convention Center, from just entering the center you would already hear the boom of music from up above. Enveloping the second floor of the Convention Center last January 28-29, 2023 Ozine Presented: Otaku Expo 2023: Anime and Manga Drawing Special!
We look back as January ends on a nice note with this event, Setsu-Ani is proud to be one of Ozine‘s Official Media Partners and they did not disappoint with this event. Although there were several concerns floating regarding the management, we want to address that Ozine has done their very best with their group of staff and coordinating with the SMX staff as well; for that we are grateful and proud of Ozine for pushing through.
Entering the venue you are greeted with the high ceilings that lead you up to the Function Rooms where the event is being held, and the amount of people that are supporting the event are getting hyped as the day goes on. From the Community Games to Workshops Ozine has got you covered, as you roam around the venue you may see familiar faces and some new faces with the Artist Alley and Exhibitor Booths displaying their one of a kind artistry and products.
Of course no event is completely without meeting our Special Guest Miu Cosplayer! She is a Vietnamese cosplayer, content creator, and artist known for her amazing cosplay and gaming streams. Some of her most notable cosplays are Sangonomiya Kokomi from Genshin Impact, Saber Alter from the Fate Series, and Sinon from Sword Art Online (GGO), her most recent cosplays include Reze (Bomb Devil) and Makima (Control Devil) from Chainsaw Man. The line to her meet and greet was all-day packed with fans that have waited for her since her last visit, Setsu-Ani is no exception we are truly grateful for such beautiful shots of Miu!
Setsu-Ani was not able to interview Miu due to her tight schedule, but we want relay our Thanks for her making through the event and enjoying the weekends. When you look around the venue you are definitely going to find lots of cosplayers and what way to show off your cosplays than to join the COSPLAY COMPETITION! There were many amazing cosplays and talented cosers stepping up the stage to showcase their very own rendition of their favorite characters, and those as well that pay homage to their anime got to belt their hearts out at the ANIME SINGING COMPETITION!
Something that gave a thrill of the stage during the event was the comeback of the BATTLE of the BANDS (BOTB) rocking their way through the crowd, grasping that moment on stage as they perform their all, and give their very best for a performance that they can be proud of!
Setsu-Ani is thankful for the opportunity give to us and the trust from Ozine, ending January with a bang! As the years goes on there are lots more in store, in case you missed this event never fear as February give you much more! Catch you favorite cosplayers, artist, and exhibitors this coming February 25-26, 2023 at the Trinoma Mall Quezon City for a 2 in 1 event by Ozine!! Ozine Summer Fest Part 1 together with Sticky Expo will be there for you, so why wallow in a solo valentines when you can enjoy at the events and rack in some merch. Setsu-Ani will be roaming around covering the event and making sure everyone enjoys, until next time!
