Once again,TOYCON PH: The Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention never failed us to give us the best and most awaited Toy convention that happened last July 7-9 2023 as they celebrated their #20YearsOfPlay here at SMX convention center, Pasay in the Philippines. Innumerable toy lovers, cosplayers, and pop culture enthusiasts all over the country and beyond gathered and filled the whole convention to witness this fun and exciting convention.
The event was held with full function halls on the 2nd floor of the SMX Convention Center.
The whole event area was full of booths for Funko Pop collectibles, also booths for the sponsors and their event partners like Globe Playboxx Booth, GMA, Warner Bros, Columbia, Hobbystock, Gnarly CALI, Bully Boy, Funtastik, Solid Toys, Stormy Vault, Devil Toys, Filbars, GTO, Cybercraft, Bostik, Talent High, Collective Base, Joy Toy, Grimmalkin, TokuSpirits, and other booths that were selling toys and their other merchandises.
There’s also an alley for both the international and local toy designers like Hariken, Creon Chkn, Badz Sculptures, Blushing Owl Studios, Double Thwipe Customs, Dreamtoyz PH, EP, Evil Co., Evil Robot, Freely Abrigo, Getsafigure, Gantsilyo ni Maria, Jed Madela, Vinyl on Vinyl gallery, The Art of Wetworks, Quiccs, GinorobertoCustoms, Haremxcustoms, Ler Toys, and so much more showcasing their original designed toys.
Got to interact with our favorite comic creators like Pol Medina Jr., Tarantadong Kalbo, Penlab, MIXDPOP, SSKAIT, Little Things, Kapitan Tambay, Samahang Kartunista ng Pilipinas, and Novice! With those great artists like Harvey Tolibao, Frany, Miguel Mercado, at Roi Mercado with a booth tributed for Mars Ravelo at the Comics Zone powered by Komiket.
Located at the heart of the event you can wander around at the Toy Gallery Collections Exhibit. You might have had your eyes teary as you could see some collections of toys in every variety: from vintage and retro toys, dolls, Mecha, heroes and villains of Marvel and DC, horror, cars and planes, anime, kids cartoons, or even consoles were displayed there.
Also a big space for the Mindstyle FanXperience stage located when you enter the right side of the function hall doors. The stage was full of lights and people were hyped as they’d waited for the panelists and other guests like Tetsuo Kurata as Kamen Rider Black and Ryosuke Kaizu as Red Mask of Hikari Sentai Maskman, the cast of Voltes V, Michael V, Tier One Entertainment Alodia and Ashley Gosiengfiao, Rojean Kayla and RogerRaker. also the contests like KO Cosplay contest and Cosplay Pop Duo and Pet Cosplay. On stage also performed the bands from other countries like PastelMix, Chicken Blow the Idol, Himegotozettaichi, To Be Radical, and our local bands like Re:Animus, Orange District, Hairgum, and Saving Radio. Crystal Paras also sang on stage for the soundtrack of Voltes V Legacy.
