Hundreds of artists gathered to showcase their talents and art pieces at the first-ever sticker expo, Sticky Expo 2022. The event happened last September 18, 2022, at Function Hall 3 of the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
Sticky Expo was created by artists “for fellow artists to showcase and sell their artworks that STICK”. Items sold and bought during the event were stickers, washi tapes, iron-on patches, magnets, etc.

The organizers provided 90 tables for the artist and merchant booths. Sticker designs inspired by anime, fan art, pop culture, and original artworks were showcased by different artists. The item prices start from five pesos for a single sticker to a hundred and fifty for sticker sets.
Some artists who participated in the said event mostly had their first experience in art booths and selling their artworks.
Ranchingu of 2/2, who’s creating her art since high school, started selling and accepting commissions during the surge of the pandemic. Painting commissions and stickers are one of her best-selling items in her both. Her frog stickers were the customer’s favorites.

Trick and Winsty of Lunedi Vinerdi showcased their collaboration of digital and traditional art. This is their first year of selling their artworks. Their original works are in the form of sticker sets, which are eye catchy and have an aesthetic vibe. Like other artists, there were also struggles while producing their craft. According to Winsty, proofing and communication during the pandemic challenged them to create the items they sell.

On the other hand, there are also regulars on merchandise and art selling. Izzy of Theizzypeasy started her artist journey in 2015 and continues to showcase her artworks by participating in art booths from 2017 until now. Since Sticky Expo also considers non-stick items like pins and charms, Izzy sells her beautiful enamel pins accompanying her fan art stickers. Her Overwatch butt stickers used to be her best sellers, but now it’s the demand for the charms since their back-to-back designs capture the interest of her customers. It makes sense why it surpasses the butt stickers.

Every successful artist starts small before going big in the community. Using the media and the internet to gather information and resources can be the ideal first step if you are an artist who pursues your passion for art. Utilized art supplies and sticker-making techniques. You can improve your abilities by joining and interacting with creative communities. Last but not least, always enjoy yourself while working on your art.

Artists and merchants like Sskait, Trinskie.oop, Regnault & Olin, Rally Rush, and Bananaz Planet have also participated with their goodies and colorful stickers that attendees couldn’t resist buying.
In conclusion, it was a fun event for art junkies, and sticker collectors to attend and participate in. For those who are looking for a sign to start doing their art and offer it to the market, this might be the sign you are looking for!
