Cosplay.PH is back again as they graced us with their second event this year, Anime and Cosplay Expo (ACX) 2023, at the SMX Convention Center last July 15-16, 2023.
The doors open for both days at around 10:30 AM, with the crowd lining up on the 2nd floor of the event venue, in the light of the previous happening during this year’s Cosplay Carnival, with the wave of crowd overcrowding the venue and minimal areas to roam or rest. ACX was a more laid-back convention with enough space for a roaming area for both cosplayers and photographers alike.
Both days started their main stage events during the afternoon with performances from Vtuber Kirakirakat for day 1 and Vtuber group Day/Break on day 2. Cosplay Karaoke returns for this year’s ACX as well as Cosplay Karaoke Encore with tons of new AniSongs being featured. The main event during day 1 was the Solo Cosplay Catwalk, with the contestants showing their beautiful and amazing outfits with corresponding performances with their respective characters.
During day 1 we can never forget the amazing concert performance shown by this year’s lovely and talented special guest Amelia Khor a popular AniSong singer, cosplayer, gamer, YouTuber, and streamer from Malaysia. She performed her renditions of AniSongs which include Backlight/?? by Ado (UTA from ONE PIECE FILM RED), Kick Back by Kenshi Yonezu from Chainsaw Man, and Idol/???? by Yoasobi from Oshi no Ko.
Amelia Khor also did a duet cover together with Anna Sasaki/AnnChan showing an amazing rendition of Aimer’s Zankyosanka/???? from Kimetsu no Yaiba’s Season 2 opening theme.
We also got to interview both AC Cosplay and Jairah Shiro of Nonemu???????at their booths found at the All-Stars Avenue during Day 2.
As before the ACX ends, Cosplay.PH have announced their special guest cosplayers and JAM Concert guest artists for this year’s Cosplay Mania 2023.
The special guest cosplayers line-up for this year, namely PH-based cosplayer Diane Sabandeja, Canadian-based cosplayer Phil Mizuno, Indonesian-based cosplayer Clarissa Punipun, together with Australian-based cosplayer KNITE.
While this year’s JAM Concert guest artists line-up consists of the Japanese duo of Ichigo Rinahamu and nicamoq of BPM15Q, Japanese singer and the singing voice behind Mikumo Guynemer from Macross Delta, JUNNA, Japanese singer and rapper, Daoko, and Japanese-American singer and lyricist, NANO.
