One of the most anticipated events of 2022 has finally made a #ComebackIsReal over a jam-packed 3-day weekend long event, making a way back to the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, Metro Manila, Electronic Sports and Gaming Summit 2022!
Electronic Sports and Gaming Summit (stylized as ESGS) 2022 has been one of the most awaited events this year and with only three months left, Gariath Concepts partnered with Globe Telecom and Riot Games brought us one of the most memorable conventions to have graced this year.
ESGS is one the Philippines’ biggest gaming events, starting from humble beginnings and providing top-notch experiences throughout the years. ESGS has established itself as a treat for gamers, hobbyist, and game enthusiasts, giving new and amazing memories to everyone who attends the event.
Gariath Concepts did not disappoint, after two years in the virtual domain ESGS has slowly worked its way back into reality, established in 2015 Gariath Concepts has marked a position in the gaming industry, Providing events and conventions that showcase the aspects of esports and video gaming to the community, this time coming in strong with partners such as Globe and Riot Games to present this year’s big bang!
The 3-day event was filled with pop music, consoles, and RGB Lights, as far as your eyes can see. Gariath has packed the whole ground floor and when the gates have been opened, everyone was greeted by the loud and upbeat music, the change of air, and the welcoming atmosphere of the venue. Everyone has been catered and staffs were helpful to the attendees letting them experience and make the most out of their time during the event, this allowed a rather smooth and fast entrance for attendees.
Tons and tons of gaming consoles can be seen, waves upon waves of keyboards, and dozens upon dozens of monitors can be found as you enter the venue. The start of the 3-day event has been such a warm welcome to what is to come for the following days, Major Exhibitors and Minor Exhibitors shines their brightest throughout the day. Performances from Celebrity Valorant Matches to Cosplay Competitions, Community Matches and Guest Performances were the highlight of the First day!
As the event unfolds, the energy from the First day has transitioned to Day 2! There were more in store for attendees as waves of people enter the venue; a clear highlight of Day 2 was the Stage Matches that allowed fans to watch their favorite streamers duke it out with each other. Another special highlight was the appearance of Blacklist International at the GCash Booth enjoying themselves at the event, it was a pure moment for fans alike as they get to see their favorite gamers as they also walk around the event.
Of course aside from the event happening at the ground floor there were panels happening for those that want to know more and get involved in the gaming scene, we are extremely humble to be a part of the panels and to hear such amazing insights during the Q&A portion. Although the event went by smoothly the weather did not, a rollercoaster of rain and wind made us worry for attendees however, the turn out was amazing and according Gariath Concept‘s CEO Sir Richard Brojan, he is extremely thankful to everyone who still came and will be taking pre-cautions as the weather goes on.
The stage has been set and the show must go on as Day 3 of the weekend-long event has finally come, gamers, hobbyists, everyone who is anyone who wasn’t able to come in during Day 2 made their way to the SMX grounds for a last hurrah. Despite the rollercoaster of a weather attendees are as excited and thrilled to be a part of this year’s ESGS 2022, it would be seen through the immense support of amazing people during the last day of the line at the SMX Convention Center.
We were stunned and privileged to be able to capture such fun activities throughout the event, it was a bit of a tight squeeze due to the amount of people inside the venue nevertheless, it was still enjoyable. Among those that we were able to speak with during the event was United Cibola Gamers fronted by Sir Gian Joaquin they are an Innovative Partner that believes about Web 3.0 and the establishment of relationships through Non Fungible Tokens (NFT), Blockchain, and Technology. Cibola Labs joined Mineski Slash on the 3-day event to showcase one of their partners Gunstar Metaverse which is a P2E turn-based game built on BSC, where players become heroes to save the fantasy starworld from mutant animals, the game allows you to explore many skills as well as use weather as a key element on your attacks. More features to be amazed about it is the Storyline, the community that is playing the game, and the collectible NFTs exclusive only to the game! Setsu-Ani is also thankful for the opportunity to get a sneak peak at the SEGA Booth for their upcoming games, such as Like a Dragon Ishin! (Ryu Ga Gotoku Ishin!) an action-adventure released for Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 which is a spin-off to the Yakuza series. There is also Sonic Frontiers which is a third-person action-adventure game with 3D platforming elements, it is the first Sonic the Hedgehog game to take the open-worldgenre. Lastly, is Persona 5 Royal, which is an enhanced version of the series; it is a role-playing game developed by Atlus P-Studio and published by SEGA. During the Last day of the event we didn’t miss the opportunity to feature three amazing people who were at the event, this month’s Cosplay Spotlight we had the privilege of interviewing two members of NONEMU! The lovely Rei Yu who is the Leader of Nonemu, some of her notable cosplays are Marin Kitagawa from My Dress up Darling, Rem from Re:Zero, and Toga Himiko from My Hero Academia. During the 3-day Event she was cosplaying an NPC Character from the game Ragnarok whom are called Kafras, as well as the Archbishop from Ragnarok.
We were able to interview the sweet Ayuu as well, some of her most notable cosplays include Hatsune Miku a Vocaloid, Thoma from Genshin Impact, and Loid Forger from SpyXFamily; this time around we find Ayu at her very first gaming convention cosplaying as Texas from Arknights.
We send out our gratitude for the two as they made time on their day for our interview, being able to know their thoughts, aspirations, and drives towards cosplay is such a privilege; and we can’t wait to share it with all of you! For this special event we didn’t miss the opportunity to bring you a new segment which you will be seeing in the near future, Creator’s Lounge! As a kickstart for this new segment we had the opportunity to interview Content Creator Cholo Tolentino! The loud music, the wonderful cosplays, and the wild gameplays are such a sight as we get to know more about Cholo at the Creator’s Lounge, aside from being a content creator Cholo is also known for his cosplays as he is part of the Cosplay Group New Game Plus (stylized as New Game+) a PH based cosplay group that was unlocked by a group of friends that love geeking out together through different means.Our Creator’s Lounge Interview will be out soon on Setsu-Ani’s official Youtube Channel.
This year’s ESGS did not disappoint and we thank everyone who made it possible for the event to happen.
